The first drawings of Cat-man and Sparrow in felt tip on uncoated paper
A note from the editor. The real Cat-man and Sparrow were called (Ned) Kelly and Lottie and were our family cats when I was a child in the 1970s. Kelly was a ferocious and fearless animal, and it was after telling Arty about Kelly and how he nonchalantly rescued Lottie from a barking dog one day, that Arty started drawing a cartoon version and called the characters Cat-man and Sparrow… a play on Batman and Robin in case you hadn’t already spotted it. Now I’ll step back and leave Arty to it again.
